Berlin Cafes
CAFE OLIV
Located in the heart of Berlin (Mitte), this cozy gem serves up simple and delicious bio(organic) food. A perfect place to relax and enjoy a nice cup of coffee, look at magazines, or just soak in the atmosphere. Also one of my favorite spots because you'll quickly notice that the surrounding neighborhood draws an international crowd: which means I can speak English and not feel like a total loser for not speaking German! Plus people are especially nice here. If you're looking for recommendations on what to eat I had the quiche which was great and I've tried their cakes in the past which are also delicious.
KAFFEE MITTE
First off, let me say that the location of this place is prime: Right outside of Weinmeisterstrasse U-ban exit which marks the beginning of a long street full of shops, bars, cafes, and markets (if you happen to be popping in on a Saturday/Sunday). I'm a total sucker for fresh ingredients and a changing menu so it was no question that I was already digging the place before I even ordered. Following the principles of the "slow food" movement, Kaffee Mitte offers fresh paninis, pasta, and a different menu every week: so you never get bored. Score! OH and for the love of God please try their cappuccino- LIFE CHANGING
CHIPPS
Coming from a city that where brunch is everything (especially for this breakfast lover) I was more than relieved when I found my breakfast haven at Chipps. This trendy spot serves up delicious aptly-named dishes like “Bed Head” (eggs Benedict), “The Perfect Gentleman” (Full English) and “Sugar Daddy” (pancakes with maple syrup). Cute right? Food does not disappoint and has become a MUST whenever I'm in town. They also have vegan & vegetarian options which makes brunching there way better than ony other place in Berlin.
