Staying Inspired

The past couple of months have felt like they've flown by.  After returning from my travels in February I've been juggling 1000 things simultaneously: school, a full time job, creating content, designing my shop pieces, photo shoots, networking.. the list goes on forever.  And up until recently it felt like there just weren't enough hours in a day.  Things kept piling up and I got lost in all the chaos; forgetting what I truly wanted, and even losing sight of the vision I had for Runaway Habit.  Thus, impulsively but not regrettably, I decided to quit my full time job so I can focus on the blog and push myself to become my own boss. (I promise you'll know more about that later)  I've been keeping on the low but things are slowly coming together and as time unfolds you'll be able to witness the fruits of all the work I'm putting in now, and I couldn't be more excited to take you on this journey with me.

So what's next? I've decided that if I want to be successful, I have to push myself harder than I ever have before.  That means getting dressed and getting the hell out of bed every morning by 8am. Dress up, go out, and STAY out. Why? Because if I force myself to get out, there's a need for me to find a purpose. Maybe I'll go to the gym, or the library, or the mall (in moderation though, kids).  But in this case, I've decided to spend most of my days in quaint coffee shops. I always find them to be so inspiring, and my ideas really start rolling when I'm in that type of environment. Particularly this favorite spot of mine in my neighborhood (see here).

Getting dressed so early in the morning was never my forte, but I've learned to pair different styles of clothing that made for fun & effortless, yet classic looks.  Sometimes all you really need are neutral heels, boyfriend jeans, a white button down, and a perfect delicate necklace to tie it all together.  This particular one is from Beach House Fancy, a new local brand here in Miami. They recently sent me this necklace as a gift and I'm absolutely in love! I'll be honest you have to know that pictures really don't do their pieces justice.  I was so happily surprised when I received it in the mail and I literally cannot wait to buy more pieces so I can layer more of their delicate necklaces.
